BOTOX® Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate-to-severe frown lines between the brows in people 18 to 65 years of age.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is administered by a healthcare professional as a simple, nonsurgical treatment that is injected directly into the muscles between the brows. It works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles. This reduces muscle activity that causes moderate to severe lines to form between the brows.

New JUVÉDERM® XC is the smooth gel filler that we use to instantly smooth away wrinkles around your mouth and nose. With just one treatment, you'll get smooth and natural-looking results that last up to a year.
Young, healthy-looking skin contains an abundance of a naturally hydrating substance called hyaluronic acid (HA). But as you age, sunlight and other factors can reduce the amount of HA in your skin. The lack of HA causes your skin to lose structure and volume, creating unwanted facial wrinkles and folds - like those parentheses lines around your nose and mouth.
Using a dermal filler like JUVÉDERM® XC is a safe and effective way to replace the HA your skin has lost, bringing back its volume and smoothing away facial wrinkles and folds.

How parentheses appear...
As you age, your skin changes. For example, it reduces production of a naturally hydrating substance called hyaluronic acid (HA). Over time, the loss of HA in your skin results in facial wrinkles and folds, like those "parentheses" lines around your mouth.
...and disappear
JUVEDERM injectable gel replaces the HA your skin has lost, bringing back its volume and smoothing away facial wrinkles and folds. A breakthrough in HA dermal fillers, JUVEDERM is the first smooth-consistency HA gel and the only HA filler that's FDA approved to last up to a year!*
Everyone will notice, but no one will know
You can experience the benefits of JUVEDERM injectable gel in a quick, in-office procedure. Your healthcare professional eases JUVEDERM under your skin to instantly smooth out the wrinkles and folds on your face. You'll see the difference immediately!
What makes JUVEDERM different?
While other HA fillers on the market have a more granular consistency, JUVEDERM injectable gel is the first smooth-consistency HA gel. This is due to an innovative manufacturing process called HYLACROS% technology. HYLACROSS- gives JUVEDERM its unique smooth-gel properties as well as an optimal gel structure that holds up over time. That's why JUVEDERM injectable gel is the only HA filler that's FDA approved to last up to 1 year.'
High patient preference
When JUVEDERM was tested in a clinical setting among people who didn't know which filler they were getting, nearly 90% stated a preference for JUVEDERM! In addition, JUVEDERM injectable gel has been tested on all skin phototypes, both male and female, so everyone can enjoy the benefits of JUVEDERM.

What causes frown lines between the brows?
The lines that appear between your brows actually result from muscle movement and the passage of time. When powerful muscles between the brows contract, they draw the brows together, causing the skin to fold or furrow. As skin becomes less elastic with age, those folds or furrows result in stubborn lines.
Because frown lines are dynamic lines caused by overactive muscles, they can usually be treated with tiny injections of BOTOX® Cosmetic.
Static lines, on the other hand, are lines that are visible even when the muscles are at rest. These lines are usually treated with a filler, such as JUVEDERM injectable gel.
How does BOTOX® Cosmetic work?
During treatment, very low doses of BOTOX" Cosmetic are administered via a few tiny injections directly into the muscles responsible for frown lines between the brows. By blocking the release of a chemical that causes these muscles to contract, BOTOX' Cosmetic enables them to relax. The effects are very localized and, when administered by an experienced Doctor, do not affect your ability to smile, laugh, or otherwise show expression. BOTOX"' Cosmetic is the only product of its kind that has been approved for use in this area.
What is the treatment like?
BOTOX Cosmetic is a quick and minimally invasive procedure consisting of a few tiny injections. Your doctor will determine exactly where to administer these injections to achieve the best results for you. No anesthesia is required, though he or she may choose to numb the area with a cold pack or anesthetic cream prior to injecting.
The entire procedure takes approximately 10 minutes, and there is no downtime afterward. Discomfort is minimal and brief. Localized pain, infection, inflammation, tenderness, swelling, redness, and/or bleeding/bruising may be associated with the injection.
What you can expect during and after JUVEDERM injectable gel treatment?
Wrinkle correction with JUVEDERM is a quick, in-office procedure with immeiate results and no downtime. Common side effects with JUVEDERM injectable gel usually are mild or mmoderate. Ask your healthcare professional how to manaage them.
